New Delhi, June 9: BMW is reportedly planning to launch its new 2024 BMW 5 Series soon in India. The next-gen BMW 5 Series is expected to be a new iteration of a luxury mid-size saloon. BMW India is focusing on selling electric vehicles along with petrol and diesel-based variants; however, a report said that ICE variants would still have to reach the showrooms.
The BMW 5-series was revealed last year in the global market, according to a report by NDTV. The BMW car series was reportedly spotted in India with minimal camouflage recently, which could mean that the German automobile company would launch the next-gen 5 series in India soon. BMW 5-Series Specifications, Features and Everything So Far
The BMW 5-Series will reportedly have two trims – BMW 530i and BMW 520d. According to the report, the BMW 530i would likely feature a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The other trim, the BMW 520d, is expected to have a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. The report mentioned that there would be an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard for both the cars in the series. There may be a powerful version in the upcoming BMW 5-Series, but the report said that no such confirmation was found from the carmaker.
In terms of design, the 2024 BMW 5-series models would use limited chrome and receive a brushed aluminium finish on the grille. The report mentioned that the upcoming car’s design would likely match the 7-Series Saloon’s cues. The Indian model would get sharper creases compared to soft lines and have swept-back treatment of headlamps. Regarding interior design, the report said that the BMW 5-Series of 2024 would offer a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch fully digital instruments cluster. 2024 BMW-5 Series Price and Expected Launch Date
The 2024 BMW-5 Series price in India is expected to start from Rs 80 lakh. The new BMW series, likely featuring BMW 530i and BMW 520d, will be launched in June 2024; the launch date might soon be confirmed. The series is expected to compete with the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
