iOS 18 developer beta gives iPhone users a glimpse into the main features that will be rolling out with the public release.

Apple confirmed the launch of iOS 18 Developer Beta 2, following its initial release at WWDC 2024 two weeks ago. This latest version, released today on June 24, introduces two highly anticipated features: iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen sharing. The announcement has sparked excitement among tech enthusiasts eager to explore these new capabilities.

With Apple iOS 18 Developer Beta 2’s additional features, the tech company is looking to fix the bugs and improve the user’s experience. The iPhone Mirroring feature will allow users to display their screens on their Mac computers. This means that they can use certain features of the iPhone on their Mac, like receiving iPhone notifications on Mac and seamless drag and drop between your computer and phone.

Another notable addition is SharePlay Screen Sharing, which allows users to annotate and control another person’s screen during video calls. This capability was previously unavailable in iOS 18, promising enhanced collaboration and interactive experiences.

In order to upgrade to the iOS 18 Developer Beta 2 version, users can go to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPhones. This new version will be available for downloading today afternoon, i.e., June 24. Unlike previous years, users can download the iOS 18 Beta without paying the $99 fee, as it is available for free. However, the public beta version is expected to be available in July, and the final version will be available for all users in September.

With Apple launching iOS 18, they are also expected to introduce beta versions of iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11.

Meanwhile, Apple confirmed its deal with OpenAI and will be eyeing more partners for its AI push. Latest reports claim Meta could be the next target for the company. Having said that, Apple faces AI challenge in the EU region and China owing to varied AI policies in place.
